WHAT EACH METRIC MEANS:

  • Total Sales (Beds24): Revenue recorded in your Beds24 system - this is what you see in your booking reports
  • Gross Booking Sales: The actual amount guests paid to book your rooms (including OTA markups and fees)
  • Commission Rate (%): Fixed percentages for each OTA
  • Commission Fee (¥): Total commission amount calculated on gross sales
  • Payable Commission: Commission amounts you need to pay manually to OTAs
  • Net Revenue: Your final profit after all commissions - what you actually keep from each booking

COLLECTION TYPES EXPLAINED:

  • Channel Collect: OTA collects payment from guest, deducts commission, sends you the remainder
  • Hotel Collect: You collect payment from guest, then pay commission to OTA later

HOW EACH OTA WORKS:

Booking.com
  • All guests prepay online
  • The commission is included in the sales data sent to Beds24
  • Beds24 displays the gross amount (full amount paid by the guest, including commission)
  • Booking.com sends only the net revenue to the hotel
  • So, the hotel must manually pay the commission fee to Booking.com
Agoda.com
  • Guests can pay online or pay at the hotel
  • If guest pays at the hotel: → Beds24 displays the full amount to be paid by the guest, since the hotel collects it directly
  • If guest pays online: → Beds24 displays only the net amount, as the commission is already deducted
  • For pay-at-hotel bookings, the hotel must manually pay the OTA commission
  • Commission Rate: 12%
Expedia & Hotels.com
  • Guests can pay online or pay at the hotel
  • If guest pays at the hotel: → Beds24 displays the full amount to be paid by the guest, since the hotel collects it directly
  • If guest pays online: → Beds24 also displays the full amount, and the commission will be deducted by Expedia
  • For pay-at-hotel bookings, the hotel must manually pay the OTA commission
  • Commission Rate: 18%
Ctrip
  • All guests prepay online
  • Beds24 shows only the net revenue, as Ctrip deducts the commission internally
  • So Ctrip sends only the net sales amount to the hotel
  • Commission Rate: 15%
Direct & Google Bookings
  • Guests book without prepayment — their credit card is registered, and they pay at the hotel upon arrival
  • Beds24 displays the full amount to be paid by the guest
  • Google bookings use Beds24's Free Booking Link, with no OTA commission
  • Payment gateway fees apply when guests pay online at the hotel (Stripe/MPOS)
  • Domestic card processing: 3.6% fee
  • International card processing: 4.4% fee (varies by card restrictions)
  • These fees are automatically deducted from payments, not paid separately
